Located at 3 Innellan Drive in Kilmarnock, Frydays stands out as a beloved fish and chips takeaway that continues to win hearts with its generous portions and consistently delicious fare. This local gem perfectly captures the essence of a classic British chippy, offering comfort food that feels both nostalgic and freshly satisfying.
Customers regularly praise Frydays for its welcoming and cheerful staff who go out of their way to ensure every visit is memorable. As Lynda Moore shares, "the food is first class and delicious with more than generous helpings," underscoring the eatery’s commitment to quality and value. Whether you’re craving a hearty fish supper or just a quick bite, the menu delivers that homely, deep-fried perfection that every chippy fan dreams of.
One frequent visitor, Scott Anderson, notes the reasonable pricing, especially for the fish supper at £8.80, although he mentions a personal preference regarding a few bones – a testament to the authenticity and freshness of the fish used. Declan McCall’s experience reflects the local love for Frydays as a reliable replacement for other well-known chip shops in the area, praising not only the food but also the approachable and friendly staff behind the counter.
Getting there is hassle-free, with a modest amount of parking available nearby – a noteworthy convenience, especially during popular local events like the winter wonderland at Dean Castle.
What makes Frydays truly special is how it manages to feel like a neighborhood staple while maintaining high standards. The vibrant, friendly service combined with the rich aroma of freshly fried fish and perfectly crisp chips creates an inviting atmosphere that resonates with both loyal locals and new visitors. No food on this visit as out on a Christmas shopping trip. Popped in for a small refreshment, and got some at a great price. Happy Monday shopping trip!

Food is terrific and the staff are lovely. Parking is not bad as there is a bit near Frydays that you can park at. But recently that parking bit has been full with the winter wonderland event at Dean Castle. Other than that, the place is great, I highly recommend, and also its good to go to since The Plaice To Be is shut, maybe forever. Some people were saying the Plaice to be was coming back, but it hasn't, so maybe that was somewhere else, but it said Kilmarnock, and there only is one in Kilmarnock I think.
